January 8, 200916 yr I/m gonna go with the 75'.I'm sure do to its age and time of construction, its made of more metal than the 01'That should give you something more solid to beat the piss out of. And i can onlyassume that its going to be easier to work on as with most older cars, they used morescrews than they use cheap breakable clips like they do these days...Just a matter of opinion.....
January 8, 200916 yr Which one will give you more usable space? I see the '01 is the L series, with the extra 6" in the rear - won't that equate to an extra 10 cubes or so over a standard model? I'd think you'd be able to put (4) 18's in there, as opposed to doing 15's in a standard model. If the '75 has a comparable amount of interior room, it's probably more solid (more metal) than the '01.....And why worry about the headliner replacement? Take it out, deaden the snot out of the roof (4-5 or more layers of mat), then make the top of the enclosure out of fiberglass, at least 1/2" thick, conforming to the roofline and back window. Hell, why not do the ENTIRE enclosure (except for the front baffle) out of 'glass? Maximize your space! Then just put the headliner for the front half of the roof back in?
January 8, 200916 yr Author good ideas floating around.. the L has more room for sure. the 16 volt system seems to be alot of trouble for everyday guys... from what i have seen so far.. but it is a great option to have! and as far as the SMDAA subs....... they look sweet and im sure they will be... but im team sundown baby...ITS GOING DOWN.... SUNDOWN.
January 8, 200916 yr as much as i lik THE town THE way it is, walling it would be even betterif you need any help jus let me kno and i'll come bak down and do whut i can to help out"THE BLACK BEAST" has a nice ring to it tho
January 8, 200916 yr I voted '75. You can't beat having a classic car to show off in.Plus, with older cars, the electrical is going to be easier to work on. No PCM/ECU controlled alts. One wire. One belt.I'd do a dual 16v setup, with a 12v step down to run the vehicle electrical. Dual 200's shouldn't be too expensive. The hood space is, I'm sure, massive.Pick up another 3000D, grab a Maxxlink. 4-6 D3100's. Rock out with your cack out.
January 8, 200916 yr Author damm dont beat the old school up leave that untouchedmy chick has the same view..
January 8, 200916 yr 75 easier electrical, more solid car... better choice.. (I have no love for a classic Lincoln, I live in a town of Demo Derby'ers )
January 9, 200916 yr looks like it will end in a draw bigjohn. Better keep both. Maybe do a mild one in your lady's ride and go bannanas in your own.
January 9, 200916 yr i boo your town of lincoln wreckers!BOOOOThey love them too... just in a different way I don't demo.. I have other (better) things to do with my money..
January 9, 200916 yr I voted for the new Lincoln. Now you just gotta find out where to put those E8's !!!
January 9, 200916 yr Author well neither of these are my chicks cars... i own 5 cars.... i have plenty of places from those 8's shit... that reminds me... i need to buy that 1000 watt!
January 12, 200916 yr I vote 01. That extra space with in the back seats will help and like you said, you have the option of a dual alt set up.
January 14, 200916 yr Author somthing else has been thrown in the mix too... i forgot i have more cars.. i have an 80's ram charger.... you know the ole big ass SUV's before they were called that! and i may have a ford explorer... 2 door sport.... so who knows at this point.
January 15, 200916 yr somthing else has been thrown in the mix too... i forgot i have more cars.. i have an 80's ram charger.... you know the ole big ass SUV's before they were called that! and i may have a ford explorer... 2 door sport.... so who knows at this point. You wanna go wall?!? Remember when Alma Gates and her Bronco were at the top of the heap? The Ramcharger has similar dimensions.... AND it's all metal! I'm willing to bet you could do (8) 18's in a W-shaped wall right behind the front seats pretty easily.......
