January 13, 200916 yr Author *cough* hybrid audioI thought you were going to run active man? What happened to that dream?yeah you were one of the members i speak of! i wanted too.. but i also wanted to belive in a simple passive system to serve my needs.
January 13, 200916 yr You could go with a set of Kicker SS series componentsThere are definitely LOUD and CLEAR but also OVER PRICED
January 13, 200916 yr Author im trying to stay off the grid..... part express john what are you talkin about hybrid? lets talk
January 13, 200916 yr The L1Pro is nice, you should be able to match them to your existing woofers. Or, you could take advantage of the trade in, trade up program.
January 13, 200916 yr Author The L1Pro is nice, you should be able to match them to your existing woofers. Or, you could take advantage of the trade in, trade up program. i figured i would use the CDT drivers, unless i can get a shallow mount speaker that could handle great midbass.. tell me more about this trade in.. im intrested... john. i tryed it my way... now im open. but im still cheap.
January 13, 200916 yr k, well.. any idea what those midwoofers will play up to? And budget? annnnddd do you have a preference metal or textile? and, what size can you fit/show me your tweet mounting location.
January 13, 200916 yr Author to be honest john, at this point i say im ready to start glassin some doors.... im not getting what i want using what i have tryed. i bought these http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...m=350102170058i als i also have a pair of these lil beef eaters.6.5" Woofer 20oz Strontium Magnet Treated Rubber Surround Mica/Poly Blend Cone 1.5" 4-Layer Aluminum VC 140/280 Watts 4 Ohm Bumped & Vented Pole Piece 28-5000 Hz Sensitivity: 91 dB Mounting Depth: 3 5/16" Dia Hole to Hole: 6 1/4" Overall Dia: 6.5" im even thinking about doing double 6.5 and tweeters..... but i think my listing pleasure is also weird... i like it clean crisp a lil tinny but not harsh... does this pan out or an i drunk?
January 13, 200916 yr Author oh yeah location... if i glass i can get them in the A piller.. not really in this pic so well... or i can put them on the tallest grey part of the door....and you can see my current location. i can not do kick pannels.
January 13, 200916 yr If you can possibly run the woofers in your door and seal it off as best as possible to give it around 1.0^3ft that will smooth out a hump at 100hz.For tweeters, here are a couple cheapieshttp://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_i...products_id=544http://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_i...products_id=541The 26NFA, you'll have to have an EQ on to smooth it out a little, it'll probably do better with being louder. The 25 should be a bit better in terms of quality.Cream of the crop though... http://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_i...products_id=908
January 13, 200916 yr Call Ken at CDT tell him what happened upgrade to SatNet- 560 4th order Eliptic xover and get a DRT-26 aluminum tweet. That will handle power and be a nice crisp tweeter. How much power you running?
January 13, 200916 yr Not to steal a thread... but what is the trade up program and how does it work?Edit:nm, I found the info in th HAT forum. Edited January 13, 200916 yr by cx-7heaven
January 13, 200916 yr Admin I would take a peak at the SEAS Neo textiles. A handful of us run them on SSA.
