Posted January 27, 200916 yr I'm looking for someone in the Indianapolis or surrounding area to build a box for me. I keep getting $350-$400 quotes and was thinking I might be able to get one made cheaper/maybe not. I have zero tools so there is no way I could do it. The subs will be 2-15"D4 IA LI to go in a 07 Ford Escape with usable dim. of 40Wx22Dx22H in a ported box tuned between 32-35hz. No need to carpet since I think I'm going to use bedliner. These will be powered by a SAZ-1500D. Thanks in advance
January 27, 200916 yr Me and my buddy build some boxes. We have built probably about 5 to 15. Over the last 2 years. We just built one for a 18"bl, that went into a sebring. We live in Lzton Indiana. About 20-25 miles west of Indy down I-74. Edited January 27, 200916 yr by mdizzle5472
January 27, 200916 yr Get ahold of my buddy Goddie (Loddie) at SoundCheck in Lafayette. The number to the shop is (765) 447-5802 I told him you might call. He will quote you a better price.
January 27, 200916 yr Author Right on guys. I should have the subs thur. or fri. so I'll be calling around more. A place called Sinister Autosports is the only local that knows of IA and isn't giving me grief over a "internet brand". If these places want to make money, why not just make a damn box?

January 27, 200916 yr my buddies at SoundCheck sell RE, Treo, and lots of other brands and deal with alot of internet stuff. You may get to listen to the Astro van when you're there if you want. www.BanginPink.com Edited January 27, 200916 yr by AlpineAndy

January 29, 200916 yr Author Got the subs late yesterday...10" of fresh snow with them! I'll be making calls and hope to have them in within the next week A meet would be cool.
January 29, 200916 yr I do build pretty decent boxes. And we wouldnt even charge much at all. All you would have to do is buy the wood, and and materials. We have all the tools to build a good box.
January 30, 200916 yr get some pics up when you get that system going. I hate this weather because I want to do my build too. Hey, you all should join a local forum called 502streetscene.net. the car audio forum there is not great but we can fill it up. Edited January 30, 200916 yr by phi
January 31, 200916 yr Author UPDATE!! I went ahead to Sinister Autosports and had them build a box ($200). I liked the attitude and help of the salesman over the phone. They just had a little ink done in Rides magazine and showed me the vehicles they were working on in their garage. I'll have the box in a few days and will try to get some pics (I have no camera). BTW-box is gonna be 3.5cu per@35hz, I wanted to keep it below window line.
February 5, 200916 yr Author Had the subs installed yesterday and I'm extremely impressed!! I've never had 15's so this is a treat for me. Once I get some more play time with various music I'll do a review. They take the power of the SAZ-1500 like a champ! Next on my list is definetly some deadening.
February 5, 200916 yr Im not suprised that sinister didnt give you any grief about IA they get around and also sell some of the smaller companies
February 5, 200916 yr would of tuned it lower, maybe 32hz, just my opinion!! so total cubic feet is 7.0, thats pretty dead on with the specs from the site. wait till they start breaking in and loosening up, its gonna get louder and sound more clearer!!
February 6, 200916 yr Author The tuning was a compromise. I wanted the top of the box below the window line and leave enough room from the rear gate to not choke them off. I'm divorced and I've got 4 kids, so loading their stuff up when they stay over made me do sub/port back. I was worried at first but the guys at Sinister set everything for me pretty dead on. The subs play everthing I've thrown at them great!....rap/r&b, jack johnson/pink floyd/led zepplin, and slipnot/disturbed/tool/korn
February 7, 200916 yr i went and checked this place out, and WOW! these guys know what they are doing, and do top notch work. i talked to Tyler and he designed me a box i never even thought of! i can't wait to have my stuff done. Tyler said ranked 3rd in the nation for dB drags and 7th in the world!?
February 7, 200916 yr We need pics! Looking forward to your review. I will be running same sub/amp setup.
February 9, 200916 yr Thanks for giving us a chance to help you guys out with your sound systems. We hope you all will enjoy your new tunes for years to come. Play it loud for us! Mike at Sinister Autosports!
