Posted January 29, 200916 yr So I got meh 4 gauge amp kit today. :bigclap: My dad is fixed on helping me with the install and he said it would be easier to put the amp under the seat instead of in the trunk, and he is worried it might overheat in the trunk on a hot summer day.It fits nice and snug under the seat, and all I would have to run to the trunk would be speaker wire.Is there a reason I shouldn't put it under the seat instead of the trunk?
January 29, 200916 yr My main concern would be moisture be it from snow from your shoes(if you live in snowy area) or from a spilled drink that runs under the seat (we've all done it).
January 29, 200916 yr Author It never snows here I'm in northern Florida. The good thing about where the amp sits is its behind a little protective wall that seals it off from the front floorboard, so the only way it could be harmed is if somebody kicked it really really hard from the back seat but I doubt that will happen.
January 29, 200916 yr if i were install a sub amp under my seats i would try to put 1x2's under the feet of the amp.. and run a cage fan if i lived in florida or texas ... and i have and i do.
