Posted January 29, 200916 yr Hi I'm making my box for 2 12" Fi SSDs and I can get my dimensions from the RE box calculator but how could I calculate a double baffle into it? I have been thinkin about it and I can not think of how I can calculate it and keep it at 4 cubes.
January 29, 200916 yr Just enter in what ever the thickness of your wood is less then your max depth. So if your using .75" wood and your max depth is 16" enter in 15.25" and when you add your double baffle it will be 16" deep.
January 29, 200916 yr just build your box as you normally would. Then once you're all finished building it, slap another baffle on there. that won't interfere with internal box calculations at all.

January 29, 200916 yr just shave .75" off the port length and make the 2nd baffel identical to the first
January 29, 200916 yr Author just shave .75" off the port length and make the 2nd baffel identical to the firstbut would'nt that change the internal space?
January 29, 200916 yr Not enough to make a difference... it doesn't have to be that exact...it'll tune the box like .002hz lower.... (not an exact just a for instance) not noticeable...
January 29, 200916 yr and with that being said... .75 extra length will make a bigger change than the slight increase of air space not displaced by the .75 length of port. looking at about: .5 hz change in tuning for adding length and .05hz for removing length-from the inside and adding to baffle/increasing net volume. February 1, 200916 yr i agree with what these guys already posted u cant hear a 3\4" more or less of a port unless u r a audiophile & have really sharp ears
March 19, 200916 yr I have a quick question to this topic... Is it better to have the first layer flushed inside the box and the 2nd layer on top??? If you would do that, you could glue and screw first layer from the sides and then glue and screw 2nd layer from the top... Does that make any sense?? Just wondering how to put baffle on my box...
