Posted January 30, 200916 yr Yesterday i received the amp wiring kit and the 10ft of power cable for the "Big 3". Today i received the 25 ft of speaker wire and the headunit. The sub and amp should be coming in shortly and then ill be installing it... so now i gotta decide quickly on my box ideas.I have decided to get a sealed box... i guess about 2.6 cu.ft. there is only one thing left to decide --- which way the sub faces and where to put the amp...in terms of sub direction/placement, i was thinking of doing something like like having the box in the trunk and when i open that armrest thing the sub will be facing towards the cabin....i was thinkn like when u opened the trunk itd be like sealed off... like a wall... so basically the trunk is just not as deep and there is a big wall which is the back of the box and then if u go inside the car and lay the seats down there is a big wall with the sub in the middle... does this make sense to u guys??? how would this sound?thanx in advance. w/o you guys i would not have made it this far!
January 31, 200916 yr Author i was also thinking (depending one cost) to make it so when u open the trunk there is a wall of fiberglass so u can see the magnet part of the sub... maybe not the whole wall but atleast part.. i think that be cool..then maybe neons later down the road
January 31, 200916 yr Author My amps coming soon and my sub probably sometime next week so i want to have my plan before i get all my stuff so i cant install it ASAP...any comments, suggestions, advice???
February 3, 200916 yr Hey I made a post and havent gotten any help either...so i'll help you out if i can.In the video u posted the sub is just slapping up against the seats which isn't going to produce a great sound. Are you going for SPL or SQ?Take a look at this option I know that it is louder firing into the front of the car like in the video. What's the "big 3"? Also, are you willing to give up ur backseats for ur system? And I have an SUV so I don't really know if the fiberglass in the trunk would make more rattle or less but the neon sounds sickHope this helped. Here's what I'd do: If the sub is not smackin against ur backseats then go for it firing it into the cab but i would keep the middle seat down so you can really hear itorFace the sub up or facing back in a ported box with the port facing back on one side of the box but still keep that middle seat down and attach ur amp up to the back of the box where the seat is down like this but only w one amp: Edited February 3, 200916 yr by Richie25

February 3, 200916 yr oh never mind ur firing it into the cab. What options u getting on the Q? and what color logo on the dustcap?
February 3, 200916 yr Author oh never mind ur firing it into the cab. What options u getting on the Q? and what color logo on the dustcap?i ordered a 15" Q with BP and a Red Dustcap. and its dual 2And my setup would look identical to that bmw with the 15" Q firing thru the armrest in the backseats. im going to seal off the trunk so that if u open the trunk it wuld just look like a normal trunk just smaller and then if u go inside the car and fold the seats down it'll be a big wall with a sub in the middle and idk where im guna put the amp. February 3, 200916 yr Ya I like the red too. You could put the amp on the back of one of ur backseats u know if that doesn't interfere with the wall. I'm getting a 15" bl and i'm so pumped. sorry I couldn't help anymore cause I've never had to hook up a system in a trunk type car

February 4, 200916 yr Build the box so it will fit in any position. Try ALL different posistions out. Find one you like, and then build something more permanent. What if you build something and spend alll kinds of time and money on it to find out you don't like it?EDIT: Personally, I would do a rear firing enclosure. Edited February 4, 200916 yr by abxx
