Posted February 3, 200916 yr im looking to get help designing a new box for my 18" ssd. the box is going in the back of my 00 expedition with the 3rd row seat gone so space isnt a problem. the amp is a rockford t1001bd. specs for the sub say 6-10 cubes 32hz. should i do the 10 cubes? or smaller? and am i better off running the 1 sub at the full power of the amp ( birth sheet says 1400 rms at 1 ohm) or running 2 18s and dividing the power? also if i did go with 2 subs what kinda cubes should the box be?
February 3, 200916 yr If the amp really does 1400 RMS, I would do a pair of 18's if you have the room. If not, I would do a pair of 15's.Do you already have one of the 18's? If so, what coils did you order? What are the maximum dimension of the area you have?
February 3, 200916 yr Author ill do the measurements for dimensions today. i already have 1 18. yes i have room for 2. i dont remember what i ordered with it i think i might had did copper coils if im not mistakin. unless they can look up my order and tell me
February 6, 200916 yr Author oh my bad the sub i have now is a dual 2 ohm, next sub will be the same. so i can run my amp at 1 ohm still
February 6, 200916 yr Author well now im stuck for now. guess ill wait to have the box done till i get the money for another sub and amp.
February 6, 200916 yr Author its pretty decent now win a box thats way under specs. but figured id go all out
