Posted February 9, 200916 yr ok i know i said i was going to get the AA Havocs but ive been brought to light about the SSA Icons and i kno youtube videos do no justice but ive been trying to do a comparison between these two subs... does the SSA icon have a foam or rubber surround? which would sound better in a sealed box? Ported? which one would satisfy my audio needs... better yet which one would last longer? which would go better with a sundown 3000d

It doesn't matter. The ICON's are meant to be low end monsters. While the Havoc, which is still a monster, is slightly more output oriented. Both woofers are made by great companies here in the USA. An SAZ-3000D is pushing the mechanical and thermal limits of both woofers. But I feel the ICON would take the power better and meet your expectations.
February 10, 200916 yr Author i was looking for somethin like in between spl and sq... im not into comps and what not i jus wanted somethin that sounds good and plays loud when i want to and also hits the low notes of like young jeezy or some bass tracksis Orion HCCA amps good? ive heard they are kinda power hungry... or whats a good brand to go with for either sub? idk im lost now lol i thought i had it figured out in what system to buy but all these brands jus sound too appetizing lol Edited February 10, 200916 yr by AAHavoc15s
February 10, 200916 yr I vote an SSA XCON. only a couple weeks till they are out It will be perfect for what your looking for
February 10, 200916 yr Admin The Xcon is closer in segment to the Havoc then the Icon is. If you are sending over 1200 watts per driver, the Havoc would be the safer choice for that level of power as that is pushing it with the Icon.
February 10, 200916 yr But putting a 3000D on an Havoc or Icon would not be a good idea unless you know what your doing.

February 12, 200916 yr Admin The Xcon's will be ready fairly soon, pricing is not released yet, and they will be in 12/15/18.

If you are going for a daily driver or Sq run the icon in a low tuned box you wont be disappointed
