hey everybody, ive had my 15" BL for a month now and its running off a Rockford P1000-1BD (1328 rms @ 1ohm) but ive noticed after playing a couple of songs its hot to the touch but not too hot,,my gains are only half way and the bass knob is only half way.... i was wondering if this is normal and is my sub taking on any damage by being hot....????

the dust cap is warm?

warm is normal for hard play..

your supposed to use a digital multimeter and bass boost dosnt help at keeping it cool.. unless properly used and set right bass boost will ened up hurting your sub

the gain is not a volume knob. You could be getting all 1328 watts at half gain. You could even be past that and into clipping at half gain.

I believe Neil wrote up an article on how to set gains using a DMM. It is VERY useful and should be stickied if someone can find it.
