is one powermaster 3100 in the front cell enough for one saz 3000d?

or will i need one powermaster in the front cell, and one in the back of the vehicle.

i should be pulling around 2000 watt rms

uh, that Sundown cranks out a lot more than 2k (unless you're at like 2Ω or something.) But MOST cars wont fit a group 31 battery up front. Why not just isolate your front stock battery for all the regular car operations & put the PM D3100 in the back strictly for subs?

Or put the D3100 in the back & say a D2700/2400 in the front?

well im gonna turn the amp down cuz im only needing 2000 watt rms.

so pretty much put an upgraded battery in the front cell

I would do in order:

Big 3

D3100 in the back.

(then monitor voltage. If it ever drops below 12v, then upgrade to a bigger battery up front or add another one in the rear depending on available room.)

Last, upgrade alternator if you have the money or voltage is still low.

well i already have a 220 amp alternator i bought.

and i have a pioneer premier deck that tells me the voltage :)

so i should be good, thanks

Your gain is not a volume knob.

i know this but i have a fi btl 15, so i wont have it installed to pull 3000 watt rms....what the saz is capable of

It will do 3200 at 12 volts, its not an amp that plays around.

  • Author

well im installing this amp in 2 vehicles....one to power a fi btl 15

and one to a jl audio 13 w7.....it can be wired to meet the max of each of these...correct?

Yes sir

ok! thats what i like to hear lol.

it was funny when i bought the amps....i got an email saying "Thanks again for your business! You got the last two 3kd's in the world from sundown"

i was pumped, til i found out about the 3500 lol. o well upgrade in the future!

so with the saz can it even be wired to 1.5 ohms witch is what the 13 w7 is.

or would it be best to wire everything down to 1 ohm?

That 1 ohm is only nominal. You will never see exactly 1 ohm.

The W7 is a dual voice coil. Pick 3 ohms or .75 ohms. With 3 ohms you will see about 1200 watts RMS. .75 ohms will be 3,000+.

  • Author

ok. i think the w7 can even be wired to .5 ohms also.

but i should wire it around one then?

  • Author

.75 ohms at 3000 watts will blow the w7 htough wont it?

No. You will slaughter that thing if you wire it to .75. You can pick 1,200 watts or 3,200.

  • Author

so the best would be to wire it to 3 ohms at arond 1,200 watts rms cuz the w7 is rated at 1000 watts rms and 2000 watts max

??

It's rated for 1,500 watts.

  • Author

ok ill wire it to 3 ohms.....

but no its not the jl audio 13 inch w7 is rated at 1000 watts rms, 2000 watts max

Edited by ryruss

Just do .75, be careful with volume. Set the amp with an O-Scope so there is NO clipping at all. And it will be just fine with 3000+

With Voltage drop and Imp rise, it will probably never see 3000 rms anyway.

Why didnt you just save some money and buy a 1500D for the w7

max rating is just for the advertising department.

but i agree with jason. you should have gotten the 1500d for the w7.
