a friend is debating on wich would be louder, not much of a sq kinda guy just wants something loud what would you go with? its going in a 1995 mini van, and i will be building a a ported box tuned around 32 hz

Ill tune at around 35 if you want to be loud and still be able to listen to music. The kicker will most likely sound louder to the ear but I think the SSA will probalbly soud better and give you that BASS feeling. Besides 18's look cooler

I would have to agree, the SSD would be the way to go
