I want to buy 2 Fi BTL 18'' with 4000 to 5000 rms each. they will be in a 2006 ford F-150 in a "blow through" i still dont have any amps, i normally listen to music with low notes. some guy told me that if i order a sub with 5k i could not play it for more than 30 sec cause it would burn. would that be true. how much would a sub run of this type?

are you wanting a sub for daily or comps only?

if you play a btl with 5000w rms daily it will fry

if your just burping it, it might take 5000w "but i don't do burps so i don't know"

if your just wanting killer bass in your truck just put 3k rms and that will be plenty "probably more than you need"

but he did say more than you need. are you competing? if not then y dude? all that is really not needed and you would be imo wasting your money. just slap 2-3000 watts on them each and keep it moving. they will sound just as loud and good

then why is there some people with this type of power and they have daily. i might not be a experet in this but i have some friend that can help me in this aspect i only want more opinons.

But yeah, idk all I know is that you would have to be VERY careful powering doulbe the rated power to each sub. I know it can be done but you better have a perfectly clean signal, and a pretty thoughout sized enclosure.

because i want to be the loudest of my county i might not have the expirence that is needed but thats why i'm doing this with the help of profesionals because i want to do a blow through :clap:

3-4k per sub is more than enough. I run 4k per sub daily. Works awesome, but without the subsonic filter set correctly, I could destroy them mechanically.

Understand that to run 6-8k true RMS power, you will spend some $$$ on your electrical system.

what electrial do you recommend? you think that 3500k is a better option then 4k per sub daily??????

3500D is just a good amp. The difference between 3500 watts and 4000 is not a big deal unless you plan on doing a lot of SPL comps.

Batteries, HO alt, lots of 1/0 wire. . .

yeah you would need lottsss of $$$$$ for the electrical system. Theres more to a good hard hitting sound system then subs and amps. For something like that I would say u'd need a high output alternator, upgraded battery upfront in the engine compartment, Tonnss of 1/0 to wire everything, and probably a couple more batts strapped in the back.
