It might help to build a box first though. On that note, I am planning on building it tomorrow. I have access to a table saw but it is in a smalll workshop and has been modified to only accept smaller pieces so I may need to have the wood cut at home depot and then fix them on the table saw if they are off.
March 19, 200520 yr that sig is going to make for some sweet porn!!!i told y'all mike has the best customer courtesy hands down!!wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
March 19, 200520 yr Author Should I use a double 3/4" baffle on the box? The sub weighs about 35 lbs. Thanks.
March 19, 200520 yr Author I decided to use a double baffle and flush mount the sub. Befor I get started can somebody double check my cut list? HEres the box Heres the cut list I came up with. BTW, I added 3/4" to the top, bottom and sides to account for the double baffle.(2) 17 1/2 x 16 3/4 (Sides)(2) 28 3/4 x 16 3/4 (Top/Bottom)(2) 26.45" x 16 3/4 (Double Baffle)(3) 12 1/2 x 16 3/4 (Port Walls)
March 19, 200520 yr Forgive me if I'm a little hazy this morning.. just woke up!Since the gross height of your box is 17.5", I think your port walls should be (17.5 - .75 - .75) = 16" high?On your diagram, the top of your box is labeled as 16" max width, so I think your side pieces should only be 17.5" x 16".Also, I don't see a piece listed for the back side of the box. You'll probably need one of those = 28.75" x 16"It looks like your front baffle piece should be 26.45" x 16" and the reinforcement piece should be laid on top of that at 27.2" x 17.5" - as not to affect the internal volume of your enclosure. This correlates to the following:(2) 17.5" x 16" (Left/Right Sides)(3) 28.75" x 16" (Top/Bottom/Back)(1) 26.45" x 16.75 (Inner Baffle)(1) 27.2" x 17.5" (Outter Baffle)(3) 12.5" x 16" (Port Walls)I hope I didn't royally fudge those numbers..
March 19, 200520 yr Author I realized those numbers were off and I came up with these. I think we are going by different assembly methods. I just assumed i would piece everything together as it is in the picture. Do these new numbers look okay? (2) 17 1/2 x 16 3/4 (Sides)(2) 28 3/4 x 16 3/4 (Top/Bottom)(2) 26.45" x 16 (Double Baffle)(3) 12 1/2 x 16 (Port Walls)(1) 28 3/4 x 16 (back)
March 19, 200520 yr Author Also, I added 3/4" to the sides, top and bottom so that i could fit in a double baffle w/o affecting internal volume.

Im going to use these numbers because they seem to make sense to me. Hopefully I'm not off. If anyone notices that i completely f'ed up within the next 30 minutes or so give me a call (949 295 5897) so I dont destroy my box.
March 19, 200520 yr Indeed, I was giving you numbers that would've allowed you to mount the front/outside piece of your double baffle on the outter sides of your top/bottom/side pieces on the front of your box. Your new numbers will allow the side pieces to extend out an extra 0.75" in the front for the double baffle to be mounted inside the top/bottom/side pieces, instead of outside like I had imagined. In short, your numbers seem to be spot on!
March 20, 200520 yr Author The box is complete and it is damn near perfect as far as looks go. Who knows if it will sound good but it looks f*ckin awesome.I can guarantee that you have never seen more perfect circles than the ones I cut, or rather that the computer cut. Details and pics will come tomorrow.
