ok, thanks to steve, my wife and myself are bitten with a new car bug..

here's the choices..

all have leather, power seat(s), top end sound system...

05 trailblazer lt black

05 saturn vue redline (lowered, 18" wheels dvd system and mp3) silver

05 liberty black

05 mb cl230 black (might have leatherette seats, i'll have to look)

all are 6cyl, except the benz which is a 1.8ltr supercharged 4...

all are automatics

all are within $28-34k.....

trading in the 04 grand prix, leather, monsoon, sun roof, 200hp v6...

which would u get and why?

so far, her preference goes like this..

saturn

trailblazer

benz

liberty

mine goes..

benz

saturn

trailblazer

liberty

the saturn looks kewl as hell btw....the redline performance package is sweet..but i'm really liking the benz, entry level or not..

help!!!! lol...

tomorrow, i do some pricing...i'll update as i go along..

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

There is a LOT in that price range.

My first question is ... do you want an SUV or a car? :P

Oh, and I'm sorry I'm making you spend some money ;)

I've done a little research on the MB as I was looking into it at an earlier date. For an entry level car, it seems almost too good. Lots of nice options, and come on ... does it not look just awesome in black? Trailblazer is one of the nicer SUV's in that price range, in my opinion.

Go drive all of them if you haven't already, obviously. Me thinks the MB might stand out to your wife if she's used to the GP.

IMO: MB > Trailblazer > Liberty > Saturn

MBs are nice any way you look at it

Trailblazers are a tad on the fugly side but good stuff

Libertys are also on the fugly side but good stuff

Saturn definitely on the fugly side, and its a saturn...

have you looked at the Lexus RX330 at all? people seem to love those (no idea on its price)

well that is teh suck

You do not want a liberty. Drives like tin can. Cramped front & rear seating, even for a midsize suv. Less cargo room then expected as well. $0.02.

I havent driven a Vue, but I dont like the look. <shrug>

MB? I dunno much about... looks alright, I'd imagine that it's well worth the money. I'm with steve, for the price, it seems like a steal.

Trailblazer? Well, I've an '02. Ask away. Roomy, nice int. layout. Nice cargo area (Had a fugly 46wx32dx17h box back there). 5' + 'bed' with rear seats folded down. Umm, Steering is very car like, handing suffers from weight & ride height. Towes 2500lbs like nothing. Engine is torquey but smooth. Pulls very well, weight and all. Tranny is smooth as well, though can get confused when driving thruway aggressively. Electronic AWD/4WD is very impressive, though engagement is noticable. Brakes are a bit weak for me, but refer to height & weight. Overall, I'd definatly recommend it though.

While you're in the price range, I'll suggest a Grand Cherokee. I test drove a couple of '04s. Not as roomy of an interior as the TB, but not bad. Much more of a cockpit feel up front... rear seats/legroom was alright (but less the TB). Cargo was alright as well, I didnt like that the full sized spare was stored IN the cargo area, under false floor... Only cause thats usable utilitarian space for me. The 4.7 drives very well, smooth, there when you want it. The tranny left a little to be desired, but if shes not gonna get on it, then no worries.

Ummm, so, yea.

well.....

it's definitely down to the saturn vue redline (performance edition, i'll try to find some pics) in blue....

and the mb in black (steve, it does indeed look sweet)

and the tb in either black or dark blue...

and in that order^^^

any jeep is out of the question, she doesn't like the new gc and the liberty does just look "cheap"...

i'm goin gto drive the vue and tb tomorrow, and hopefully, the mb as well...

i'm pulling for the mb myself...

she's pulling for one of the suv's...

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:
