I have a friend with 2 JL 10W3v3 under the back seat of his 2002 dodge ram and wants to know if he should get 2 Fi SSD 10 to replace them. I know that the SSD's handles more power, but would the switch be worth it? Thanks any input welcome.

10w3 is a nice sounding driver that performs well in most areas. SSD would also sound nice, but get louder. additionally, it would probably require more power for you to benefit from it though

Isnt the 10w3 their SQ line? I would think it would be more comparable to the Q if so, but dont get me wrong. I had to SSD's running off a ZX1500.1, and it pounding and sounded amazing in the process. But like stated above what is he looking for in a driver?

Why hasn't anyone asked the enclosure size? That could very well not be a good swap if the enclosure isn't within Fi's spec for the SSD.

i think all jl models are sq, with the exception of the w7...and even that i believe is still designed to be an sq oriented sub.

With the enclouser size issue, i can build a box for him so thats not an issue. I was just trying to find out if the switch would be benefical. Thanks

remember the ssd will only be as good as its box. and if it's under the back seats of a dodge ram i dont think it will be enough cu/ft. i would only do it if it was ported.
