Posted March 17, 200916 yr I put 2 12" Lethal Injections in a custom 4.25^3ft. @ 35Hz box. Hifonics 1608d 1100w @ 2ohms. Set the amp to 43v with a 45Hz tone. At first I forgot to screw them down so they were bouncing all over at full power before I realized it. The lows sound good and loud but the bass kicks don't pound like they should. how can I test them.
March 17, 200916 yr dont sound blown... mess with your settings on your amp. Edited March 17, 200916 yr by BoomBoxB
March 17, 200916 yr Author dont sound blown... mess with your settings on your amp. It's not that. During the songs that have a bunch of current flowing through them they kinda smell burnt.
March 17, 200916 yr and dont let that happen again! or you WILL be buying new subs.if you smell anything turn it down!
March 17, 200916 yr Author The gain was set to 1100w with a meter and I have turned it down. Other people have told me something is missing, a couple of coils maybe?
March 17, 200916 yr Author The lows sound great the bass kicks just aren't there and sound like crap. The subs and amp were new.
March 17, 200916 yr if u wired it right ... amp settings ... and that amp never does 1100Wrms @ 2ohm(maybe ...clipped to hell)
March 17, 200916 yr The lows sound great the bass kicks just aren't there and sound like crap. The subs and amp were new.The "bass kicks" are higher bass frequencies, which should be handled by the front speakers. But, if you don't have front speakers that perform well, you could cross over the subwoofer at a higher frequency. Try a higher crossover frequency.

March 17, 200916 yr is the rattle coming from the sub itself or the metal parts of the trunk vibrating?and missing a couple of coils? haha. I doubt they're missing from your subs.
March 18, 200916 yr Author is the rattle coming from the sub itself or the metal parts of the trunk vibrating?and missing a couple of coils? haha. I doubt they're missing from your subs. Its a Tahoe. It's the subs. They don't look right when they hit, like vibrate.
March 18, 200916 yr Maybe you don't have them wired right? Box the wrong size? and how do they not look right?
March 18, 200916 yr Are you sure they are wired in phase..... i.e. is the polarity of each of then correct?
March 19, 200916 yr would you be able to get a video of how it "doesn't look right"You wont be able to tell much from a normal video.
