Posted April 6, 200916 yr What would be the best thing to get for a fake car alarm? I think something with a flashing led with maybe a battery i could charge while driving around or something like that would be best, but what should i get?

April 6, 200916 yr Yeah probably a flashing red light somewhere.Oh and a ADT sign on your car! Keeps some thieves out of house, why not a car!
April 6, 200916 yr Could just get an LED and hook it up to your car's battery. They draw next to no power so there's no risk in draining your battery. My old car had one, I assumed leftover from an alarm in the car before I bought it. It was on all the time and I never bothered with it. But that car got broken into anyway so it didn't do much good, at least that day. Obviously wouldn't know if it deterred at any other time.
April 6, 200916 yr You can get a decent brand-name alarm on Ebay for about $35-50. The wiring can be found on the net, so why not just spend some time and money and do it right.
April 6, 200916 yr parts express used to have some flashing 12V lightshttp://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.c...FTOKEN=26967993its sold out now though.radioshack might have somewhen you find one hook it to one of these relayshttp://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.c...tnumber=330-070then get this thing for freehttp://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.c...FTOKEN=26967993It shows different ways of wiring a relay. there is even one called "fake alarm" in the book
April 6, 200916 yr Yeah probably a flashing red light somewhere.Oh and a ADT sign on your car! Keeps some thieves out of house, why not a car!Unless they're smart thieves, then they know how to disable it from the sign. It happened to my aunt's neighbor. They had some alarm that was wired through their power or cable box outside or something, and it was the only type of alarm that did that (so she told me, I don't know about home alarms).
April 6, 200916 yr I still think the ADT sign will work the best...Edit: Ok maybe not, smart thieves have negated this option.. Sorry man, you're chit outta luck Edited April 6, 200916 yr by -Jason-
April 6, 200916 yr i bought an autopage rf-315 for 51 shipped. the rf-220 is cheaper. id say just go with that.
April 6, 200916 yr Install razor blades on the back of your stereo so when they grab it, it cuts the chit out of them.
April 6, 200916 yr Install razor blades on the back of your stereo so when they grab it, it cuts the chit out of them. The only bad thing about this is that due to our messed up legal system, the perp can sue you for damages to his hands and win. Personally I'm all for hacking them up, though.
April 6, 200916 yr You could by an fx human prop and put clothes on it. If you are interested I know some places you can check out.

April 6, 200916 yr back in the day we used to put a alarm siren.. but on the negitve side run it into a PCV pipe that is lined with tin foil.. and have a spring inside that is grounded... when the car is moved or shaken the spring touches the tin foil and the siren sounds... make sence?
April 6, 200916 yr Sleep in the car!!!!Nah, I'd shop and save for a 2-way....What good is an alarm if the public is immune to them....Mine has a 5000ft range...only cost me about 175-190. Protect your investment!!!
April 6, 200916 yr An empty .44 Magnum holster sitting on the passenger seat! Thief then wonders where the owner and gun are and decides to pass!Dirty Harry FTW! ....
April 7, 200916 yr i'm trying to remember where i read it, but as more idea's you can set up a cheap sirin in a couple smart spots, that way when a theif tries to cut the alarm.. or pops the hood. anything like that, the sirens will go off right in there face.example one, i read that someone put a single siren under the steering column in the dash right next to the fuse box and rigged it to where if the wires were moved at all, they would touch a grounda ndmake the siren go off in they're face.also they set up a siren or 2 in the back of there car, that way if they were to pop the trunk, or rear hatch, it would blast off in there face.idk, stuff like that. same goes for bright bright LED lights.
April 7, 200916 yr i have been towing cars along time.. and the only alarms that make me wanna pass on them are loud fucking tweeters along with the siren.... nothing like your ears bleeding to make you wanna get away from a car.
April 7, 200916 yr Alarms don't deter thief's. Why would you even bother with a fake one?A big x2 to that one. I had my cutty stolen when I was late one day to work quite a few years ago. I had two alarms on it, a viper and a crimstopper as my secondary, well they got to both of them quickly......not to mention my car was very easy to steal.....all cuttys are. Wish I would have invested in a quick release steering wheel! I lost my ass on that car. Any theif if good enough, can and will take what they want. Best way to deter theives is watch where you play it and never bump around where you work or live. Been doing that for the last few years and seems to work now.......that and don't pimp your car out, lol!
