April 10, 200916 yr It's pretty much standard across the board, you build larger you get louder and lower. Increasing inside increases efficiency, but decreases power handling.Thanks. Thats what I was thinking. And you lose power handling capability at the same time. ie don't take it too far.

April 10, 200916 yr You could get a single 18 bl on that 1500d.He is looking for some good output, and he will lose it with only one 18"
April 10, 200916 yr M5 said it earlier. (considering enclosures are done right)Maybe upgrade to a BTL. I think most people would be more happy with a BTL than the Q or BL really. To make a blanket statement, unless someone is running an actual true SQ system where they have an active front no rear "fill" cost aside the BTL would probably be the best bet. Facts are. The BTL will be louder off less power and have a much higher ability to take abuse.Unless you likesome very unique organ music, and you have an amazing recording, then maybe something with a lower Fs could help. Even then it's more tune than anything.
April 10, 200916 yr I hate to use your thread an regurgitate what M5 said but it really pertains to your thread, and to many other thinking the same, and reading this. It's one of the most threaded topix.
April 10, 200916 yr Keep in mind that loudness is subjective. I personally think my 1 12" Q I used to have was friggin' loud. I'm going to be putting 2 12" Q's in my buddies Escape tonight, so I'll update when I hear it!
April 11, 200916 yr after reading this i went onto ROE and pulled up "the great 12 challenge". I think the BTL has been updated since the test, but anyway, the Q had a higher peak dB level at 1000 watts than the BTL did at 2000.... just thought that was interesting
