this might sound noobish but i wasnt sure.

im getting an aq2200d, but im not going to be running it at 1 ohm, im going to be running it at 2 ohms for the time being. the question is, do i need to up the battery and treat like im running it at 1 ohm (2200 W)? i think i should be fine off my stock battery since im only pusing ~1300 watts correct?

depends on your alt and battery specs. if you have a large battery and large stock alt you should be fine for now if you have a small stock battery and alt you will need something.

if you plan on pushin all 2200 eventually do it. you might need to already.

just hook everything up then youll know.

the only reason im not using the full 2200 is cause i need money for a new battery haha.

i guess i'll find out when i hook it all up eh.

the battery and alt is gonna be whatever a new mazda 3 comes with.

Try it out and monitor the voltage with a DMM back by the amp. If your voltage is dropping down in the 11~ volts range you need to upgrade. Start with the big3. Test again, see if that helps. Put a big starting battery in, see if that helps. Do a secondary cell in the trunk. That SHOULD fix your problems (if there are any to begin with).

Oh, and you're going to want to run 0/1 gauge wire back there.

i'm already gonna run 0 gauge back there and do the big 3, all basic stuff in all my cars so far. i just never had an amp that pushed more than 1000 watts so i was curious.

i ran mine with stock alt and a optima RT/batcap 2000.

no drops. no big 3 either.

great amps.
