Hifonics XX-Cyclops 4kw @ 1 ohm more power @ 1/2 and they say it will burp at 1/2 strapped ( 1/4 to each amp ) unmodded... only time will tell tho

PG Tantrum T1200.1...full power between 2 and 4 ohms (benched at 1.45kW).

Well you just HAD to set the limit at 1kw :(

My Diamond D7401 benched at 817w into 2ohm at 12.7v. It probably could hit 1kohm at like 1.2 ohm?

my Orion can do .5 daily, but I dont have the current to power it at that

my Orion can do .5 daily, but I dont have the current to power it at that

doesn't really need much more current to run .5 daily. all i had was a 135amp alt, red top and the big 3...ran beautifully all day long at .5ohm

now i gotz one that does 3.6kwrms @ 2ohm @ 14.4...over 4kwrms @ 2ohm and 17 volts...

but it's in the garage...lol...

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

It's insane what kind of impeadances amps are stable at these days. Used to 1ohm nominal was for competition only due to the fact impeadance rise woudl put it over 2ohm easily.

Now 0.5ohm is semi common and most all non componet only amps are stable to 1ohm in some form.

Umm...err...no.

a lot of amps are 2ohm stable bridged

which means 1ohm stereo.

many many MANY (most in the car audio industry) 1 chanel amps are 1ohm stable.

And I can think of many many MANY that aren't :)

I just smell something when the words "most all" start getting thrown about ;)

most of the class D amps are rated for low impedances ... that's where they make their power. Their 4 ohm power specs are often very UNimpressive.

my amps have been benched all the way down to .25 ohms without being too protection happy, although in my car, it is around .5 ohms each that they get a little happy. They draw soo much current on a test tone that in about 1.5 seconds everything shuts off.

RE 36.1. last one in existance. Dave from RE said it does 1800rms at 1 ohm. never ran it lower. runs my XXX perfectly.

also got an orion xtr pro 2400 that does about 2450 at 2 ohms. 2 ohm stable. thats a guestimate with a lil math and a volt meter, but A/C voltage i get coming out on a sine wave suggests it does about 2450.

my goliaths around 5700-5800 each at about 1.5 ohms reactive...somewhere around .35 nominal load
