I'm just wondering what you guys do to have you're front stage keep up with your bass, cause I have Infinity 6x8 componets and the midrange is just not there when I got my bass on full tilt. So does everyone just get a custom door panel made and put a bunch of speakers in there or is there some speakers that can handle a lot of wattage or what? Maybe infinity perfects would be better I don't know I just want some really loud treble and midrange to keep up with 2 15's right behind me head

And what is the difference between an active and passive system?

Do you have an amp for you mids/highs?

I will be Fiber glassing some A-Pillar pods soon to hold a 5 1/4" component set.

yea but havent put in my soundstream 4.420 yet right now its a cheapo the 4.420 is rated at 70w x 4 rms @ 14.4volt

and 105w x 4 rms @ 14.4 volt @ 2 ohms which is what infinitys run at 2 ohms, hopefully my car puts out 14.4 volts

Most vehicles without modification will not do 14.4, and if you have bass your voltage will drop to low 13's, or 12's depending on power.

I need to get a in vehicle voltage meter

You want a loud front stage? Amp some horn tweeters and mount them in your sails and kiss your hearing goodbye.

I mainly want some really loud mids like 1000-8000hz

Have you already worked on your doors ?

I have put some damplifier (SecondSkin Audio) in (or on) my front doors, and I can really hear a good improvment of the mids.

Try some good component speakers, that can handle at least 70 w rms per side, with your amplifier, it should be better than your coax.

just my 02 cents!!! (I am not a specialist, or a pro)

Agreed.

Nothing will keep up with two 15s right behind your head. Turn them down and balance with the front stage, then you'll have it.

Want loud? Go to radioshack and get two 25 watt 8 ohm PA drivers and hook um up to your amp. Ha f'n loud! A guy i know put two in his headrest facing the back of your head. Yea, i didn't like ridin it that truck! lol It was insane!! Doesn't sound good.. but you said loud!

I wish more people understood this.

I do turn it down to blend in with the front stage, but I would like to be able to have my front stage loud enough so it blends in when I got my bass knob turned all the way up I turn the bass knob to probally 1/4 turn to blend in.

im not so worried about mid bass i just would like the highs(words)to be understandable wheen im crankin. i wondering more and more if a powered horn setup is right for me?

I would go JBL 6 1/2 comps... I just insalled mine and they kick ass. Just make sure you are running an amp and cross over on them

If you want deafening loud (literally) horns are pretty much the way to go. Please don't go buy bullet tweeters and pretend you are from Florida though.

damn thats cold i am from florida lmao.....no bullet tweeters though

You sir should NOT be in control of the bass knob you are much to irresponsible. Just unplug it, that is retarded.

Alright if i have my gain's set correctly on my amp which I do, then what is wrong with a bass knob? because without a bass knob if I turn my deck's EQ bass to -6 (which it pretty much stays on, unless I'm listening to Rock then I turn it up to -3) it still drowns everything out without my bass knob turned down drastically. There is no distortion on my subs, and I never turn my EQ up beyond -3. And somebody said I should have got sound quality subwoofers, You're saying Fi Q's dont have any sound quality? Because I think they sound pretty clean. Basically what I'm saying is, I want the lyrics to sound louder, and not totally be overpowered by Bass and Cymbals which is how it sound's currently if i play Rap. My Deck only has Bass and Treble for EQ, so it's kinda hard to get everything dialed in right.

Okay man there is a few things you could do.

1) Get a better deck that will allow you to 'boost' your highs better

2) get a bigger amp and fiberglass in 2 or 3 sets of componants. While I am not huge on multi componant setups, it can help balance things out.

Umm, wow. You are deceiving us in this thread and making it hard to help you.

1) those 6x8's are a joke and pretty much suck. first step is replace them with some 6.5" components. not enough room? too bad, you have to.

2) 1-8kHz is what you want but you still think the cymbals are loud enough??? that makes NO sense. please spend some time with test tones and figure out really what frequencies you want.

3) you used the term "keep up" and "hear the lyrics" there is absolutely no SQ focus in your setup whatsoever so I would agree those weren't the right subs for you

4) I am curious as to your "gain set correctly" many people say that, few people do and I can guarantee at the levels you are playing you couldn't hear 10% distortion on your subs anyways.

5) Bass & Treble knobs are as effective if not more so than a wimpy 5 band gr eq. The easy way to set them is flat. If that doesn't do what you want, turn one or the other (or both) down but neither up.
