ok so i just ordered my 12" ssd with copper coil.

i am going to be powering it with a kicker zx750.1 and it will be in my single cab s10.

should i go with ported or sealed if i listen to mostly rap.

which will be louder.

and does anyone have a box build thread for a single cab with dimensions

Ported if you can.......

Hope you chose D1 coils so that you can run the amp at 2 ohms. If you have the room go 2.2 cubs after all displacments and tune to 33hz. It should get plenty loud with that amp.

Good combo by the way :fing34:

alright.

anyone on here have a build thread for a ssd in a standard cab?

Use the box calculater on the SSA main page.

alright so how do i figure out what i need with that calculator page and how to i get the sqr cub. to be exactly 2.2

What are the deminisions you have to work with? I will help you.

ok heres the measurements with pictures

http://i40.tinypic.com/k3w0zl.jpg could probably go a little further with the bottom

im putting chevy s10 bucket seat in soon and getting rid of the bench seat and idk how much more room thats going to make but as of now on the bottom of the seat to the back of the cab its 9.5 inches, middle is 5.5 inches and the bottom of the window it is 3 inches.

that is comfortable driving positoin

That is going to be a tight fit. The mounting depth of the sub is 7" correct.

mounting depth is 6.5

so yea pretty close to 7

with the bucket seats i should gain about an inch or a little less of room

i had kicker comps in before and the mounting depth was over 7 inches

here was the dimentions of my old box

top width 5.5in

bottom width 8.5 in

enclosure width 20in

enclosure height 15.5

i had kicker comps in before and the mounting depth was over 7 inches

here was the dimentions of my old box

top width 5.5in

bottom width 8.5 in

enclosure width 48in

enclosure height 20

You could try these numbers to get you started.

I would not do that. Build a new box.

so build a new box but for the part the subwoofer goes in use the dimensions from the old box?

should i make the length of the enclosure the whole distance of my cab?

and the width of the dimensions of the old box

should i have ordered the flatwind coil or is the copper coil fine

should i have ordered the flatwind coil or is the copper coil fine

Copper coil will give you better sq and lower fs flatwind would have made it handle more power so with your amp you made the right choice

top width 5.5in

bottom width 8.5 in

Put these numbers into the ssa box builder. You can adjust them to better fit for truck cab. I have the copper option and like the sq it adds.

Here is a sheet i made up of the box built.

does the gross box volume mean cubic feet and what does net box volume mean

i had to adjust the port hole on a calculator to get the net box volume to be 2.2 but the gross box volume stayed the same
