May 4, 200916 yr Those magnets on your btl's look different from what ive seen on other's.New?I don't think they are new, maybe Scott is incorporating more cooling into them. Similar to the RE XXX magnet cooling.
May 4, 200916 yr That motor design is what they went to after the old triple slug design. I believe it changed about a year ago. The plugged up pole piece helps with cooling. It is explained either on their forum or website.

It is explained either on their forum or website.Okay guys, we are not talking about the new motor design. We all know. We also know about the pole piece. We are talking about the 4 cooling vents on the magnet itself. I already explained it.
May 4, 200916 yr Author We also know about the pole piece.I didn't know about the pole piece. I read the sticky but didn't realize they plugged the whole thing up, that's why i asked.

Look familiar?
May 5, 200916 yr Yep thats exactly what i was thinking.I beleive he designed the XXX also.He did, not that version though
July 13, 200916 yr No Rob is talking about the 4 slots in the magnet. They are for cooling.Wrong. They are glued together, no cooling there. XXX has small gaps, but the BTL does not.Less shipping damage with 4 segments. When you actually build your own subs, you can buy them in segments and assemble them in house before magnetizing. . . edit - that is less shipping damage of raw magnets, not fully assembled BTL's
