Probably overkill there. BUT if you have extra 8ga laying around and can fit it in, more power to you! You'd be fine with 10 or 12 though.

I'm running Scosche "14ga" per voice coil on my Q 12"... Seems fine so far

How far is it from your amp to your Q? If not far, 14ga is more than fine.

Pretty sure that doesn't matter at all.

you do realize that as a wire gets longer it has more resistance, and needs to be thicker to prevent burning up. especially in high power applications.

if you dont know what you are talking about, keep quiet and learn.

Seriously, when working with that much wattage, evrything starts to matter...what the strand count is, how long, the type of metal, proper connections, etc. :)
