Posted May 11, 200916 yr Right now I have 2 dcon 12s in a sealed box. 1.25 cubes each and they sound ok, but to me they lack the output I like. My girlfriend likes them, so I'm going to give the the box to her when she get's her vehicle which is soon. I orginally intended on putting them in a ported box, 4 cubes tuned to 33hz and even had the box built, but it didn't fit and yes I'm kicking myself in the ass for my miscalculation but it's a beautiful box made by Trev of Pound That Sound and I know it'll eventually sell. I'm strongly considering a pair of 10s in a nice ported box. I have a RF T500-1bd to power a pair. I have never tried a pair of 10s before. I'm pretty sure 3 10s is louder than 2 12s or 1 15 (quote me if I'm wrong), so is 2 10s about as loud as 1 15? So far the subs I am really leaning towards are 2 DC Soundlabs Level 2 10s, 2 SS RL-i 10s, 2 RE SR 10s or 2 AA Arsenal 10s. I know all have good sq but which pair would have the most output with the power I have?Right now I have 2 dcon 12s in a sealed box. 1.25 cubes each and they sound ok, but to me they lack the output I like. I just really wanted to rephrase the topic title because I want a pair of 10s and need more feedback. Edited May 14, 200916 yr by johnecon2001
May 11, 200916 yr Why not just keep it in the family if you like the DCON's and get the 10" versions?
May 13, 200916 yr Get 2 10" SSA Icons from Audibel Customs (Quentin) And let him build you a free box. I just got my box from him and it's very clean. Still haven't got my sub but I can't wait. It's a deal you can't let pass!! Edited May 13, 200916 yr by tech2332

May 13, 200916 yr My bad..Why not sell the amp. You'll be saving yourself time and money which you can invest in an amp. You can get a amp to push each icon about 500-600 watts and still be satisfied.

May 14, 200916 yr Admin there is a very easy solution here. Simply port these bad boys. Trust me, they will come alive and have plenty and I mean plenty of output for you.
May 14, 200916 yr Author Could you fit a 3cube box ported? Yes, but don't they require a much bigger box than that to sound their best? Edited May 14, 200916 yr by Jysoe
May 15, 200916 yr Author With that amp I personally would do the RL-i's. That's actually what I've been leaning towards.
May 16, 200916 yr Admin Could you fit a 3cube box ported? Yes, but don't they require a much bigger box than that to sound their best? Not for the Dcons, in terms of ported, they thrive in smaller ported enclosures.
