Posted June 5, 200916 yr I ordered my btl a few days ago (fully loaded) and now it's time to buy an amp, what do you guys think of soundstream? The sub will be going in a 5 cuft pored box tuned to 32 hzNot trying to spend more than 500
June 5, 200916 yr No experience with new Soundstream but you may want to look into Sundown.Pre-Sale on the new SAZ-2000D fits in your budget nicely.http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...showtopic=27430
June 5, 200916 yr Im assuming you have one sub and plan on only running one? Should have got d2.just curious, why do you say that?thanks
June 5, 200916 yr Author Why would d2 be better than d1Yea I thought about that saz2000d but will it be enough power?
June 5, 200916 yr You can wire a d2 down to 1 ohm or wire your 1 ohm to .5 or 2 so u need to look at an amp that does 2000 watts at 2 ohms or risk running an amp at .5
June 5, 200916 yr Why would d2 be better than d1Yea I thought about that saz2000d but will it be enough power?D1 can be run as 2 ohm or .5 ohm. D2 can be wired at 4 ohm or 1 ohm.Alot of companies rate their amps at 1 ohm.I would say a 2000D would run a fully loaded BTL nicely as long as it's the daily version.

Are you saying fot him to run his 2kd at .5 and risk it and also not be covered under warranty or telling him to run it at 2 ohms and get ~800 watts to it.
June 5, 200916 yr seems you're stuck with amps that do rated power at 2ohms due to your voice coil configuration. i would recommend looking at the kicker mono amps.
June 5, 200916 yr seems you're stuck with amps that do rated power at 2ohms due to your voice coil configuration. i would recommend looking at the kicker mono amps.X2. Kicker amps are rated at maximum RMS @ 2 Ohms. Like the 2500.1.
June 5, 200916 yr SEC you have your sundown at .5 ohms right? Any problems? Many people run them at .5 and have no problems but the bad thing is you lose the warranty.
June 5, 200916 yr Author Well I went ahead and mailed fi to change it from d1 to d2... Waiting on reply. Will definatly get the saz 2000d. Thanks for the help!
