June 17, 200916 yr 5.18922 mm in diameter if you are in need of 4 gauge wires. I only converted the inches to cm and didn't look up the amp. Edited June 17, 200916 yr by phi

June 17, 200916 yr 20mm squared is the area of 4 Gauge.5.189mm is the diameter.Do you go by area or diameter?Edit: I think you go by area... Edited June 17, 200916 yr by tech2332
June 17, 200916 yr there's a misunderstanding here. You, the original poster, are referring to Surface area.phi is referring to just the diameter. Here is a list of Europe vs America-4/0 107.16mm23/0 84.97mm22/0 67.40mm21/0 53.46mm24 21.14mm28 8.36mm2I would suggest 4awg or 20-21mm2 wire. It has a rating of 60A fusing so 4awg\20mm2 is the preferred choice.
June 17, 200916 yr Author looks like they just like to round things off rather than be precise.i prefer to be precise at least two places after coma.
