when im not even playin my sub or have my ac on it slowly drops to 13.5 and sits there.

then the rest of the day i never see 14s again :(

i had my alt checked and its fine so i have no idea wat it is.

any ideas?

Not all cars produce 14v+.

well mine obviously does since it starts out at 14.2

it should stay at that instead of slowly dropping.

i was thinkin it was the regulator maybe?

if a regulator goes bad i know ur volts can get really high but i dont know if it could make them drop like that.

Friend of mine has the same year vehicle only a Blazer and his is rock steady at 14.5 at start up but will drop down to 14.1 when he turns up the volume knob. His system is modest compared to most!

He has a 200amp DB Electrical Alt and an Optima Red top up front.

i wish mine stayed that high lol.

when it sits at 13.5 it usually drops to 13.2-.1 on most songs.

That's not bad as far as voltage goes. Are your running stock alt?

Very common for voltage to drop .5v or so after startup. My Tahoe would start at 14.4 but after warming up would stick at 13.8 until cooling off for a few hours. An MLA module helped, I start at 16v and drop to 15.5 or so now, but other than that it is normal operation.

It's just because of heat. Cool electronics work better/more efficiently, but as your car warms up, the alternator does as well and thus becomes less efficient at producing power. Every car does this. This is also why in the winter it likely starts a little higher still.

KU40 is hit it dead on, once the windings, casing, etc gets hot the internal resistance goes up thus a voltage drop occurs
