I have just recently found the FI brand and from what I can see seems to be a quality product. Would like to get a couple of oppinions. The BL is listed as the inbetween sub, not as good as the flagship BTL and better than the SSD. My question is the BL has a higher power capacity than the SSD but xmax is lower. I realize that xmax is not everything when it comes to a sub but seems odd to me that the higher end sub has less linear travel than the lower end SSD. I would say that possibly this may have had something to do with sound quality but they have a seperate line for that with more xmax than all exept the BTL. I am probably only going to be able to run 1 sub if I plan on keeping my seat in my extended cab truck so trying to get the most bang for the buck. Any comments on this?. Thanks in advance.

So is this a which one should I buy question? I'd say it's a budget question. Both subs are solid, and will get loud. (BL will get louder and handle more power.)

Not really a which one should I go with, more of oppinion on why the BL has less linear travel than the SSD......I am pretty sure ill be going with an SSD just my curiousity on the differances of the 2.

The sound quality doesn't always depend on whether one sub has more linear x-max than another. The SSD is a daily oriented sub that sounds great and will get loud, while the Bl is more of a SPL oriented sub that will still sound good, not as good as the SSD, but it will be louder.

x-max is NOTthe great equalizer

depends on what you like to listen to if you can share that it would help out.
