Posted July 1, 200916 yr when tuning an amp without the bass boost on you tune it right before the amp starts to clip ... so if you increase the bass boost wont it make the amp clip or am i missing something?
July 1, 200916 yr You're not missing anything. It's worthless in 99.9% of installs. It's normally centered around 45 hz, which is where most subs and vehicles have a natural peak already, so there's no need to add on.
July 1, 200916 yr the point of it is to release the smoke from the sub.lol x2 my buddy just blew his sub for the 4th time in a row cuz of this "wonder knob" he finally believed me after his sponsor rep flipped out on him and made him promise to keep it all the way off

July 2, 200916 yr I just tuned my amp with the bass boost all the way up so even if i do decide to put it on it won't clip.
July 2, 200916 yr Author say i have the bass boost off and i adjust my knob ... will there be any difference?

July 2, 200916 yr Author i think he means that he tuned it with his bass knob all the way up and the bass boost where he wanted it and then tuned the gains
July 2, 200916 yr Author say i have the bass boost off and i adjust my knob ... will there be any difference? can anyone answer this ... i planned on tuning everything tonight ... will my bass knob be useless if bass boost is off? ... i wanted to use it because most music sounds like crap when the lows are that loud
