when tuning an amp without the bass boost on you tune it right before the amp starts to clip ... so if you increase the bass boost wont it make the amp clip or am i missing something?

You're not missing anything. It's worthless in 99.9% of installs. It's normally centered around 45 hz, which is where most subs and vehicles have a natural peak already, so there's no need to add on.

yeah i have been trying to get my friend to back off of it and just get a more powerful amp, just from previous experience it makes the amp work harder, get hotter and clip easier. why waste money and equipment.

i think he means that he tuned it with his bass knob all the way up and the bass boost where he wanted it and then tuned the gains

can anyone answer this ... i planned on tuning everything tonight ... will my bass knob be useless if bass boost is off? ... i wanted to use it because most music sounds like crap when the lows are that loud
