Posted July 10, 200916 yr I was thinking of taking the subwoofer out of my room and putting it in my truck(temporarily) until I buy my stuff I want. It has an RCA' and positve and negative wire. I was thinking connect the power to my remote wire, the negative to the ground and RCA to RCA. Is this a really bad idea? or what? Thanks guys

Thanks guysyou will get no power out of your remote wire ... it is just a 12 volt constant to turn on your amp with little amperage

July 10, 200916 yr Run a separate power wire from the battery. But you'll have to make sure that the sub amp will accept 12 volts since it apparently belongs in the home on 120v. But since you don't have a remote wire it may be on all the time, except if it has an auto-sensing feature from the RCAs. If it doesn't have that feature, it will stay on all the time and drain your battery.
