Posted July 17, 200916 yr Ok, within the next month or so I plan on getting a car stereo for my new car. I'm probably getting 4 alpine type component speakers, tweeters and cross overs with either a kenwood double din deck or a Power Acoustik touch screen deck to power the speakers. Now for the subs, right now Its between Fi and Dc, I'm leaning towards Fi but I'm just wondering what is the difference really between the Bl and the Dc?
July 17, 200916 yr I really don't get it your title compares the Q to the BL and then you ask about DC. That and you give Zero background \ Please take the time to make your threads helpful for others searching on the board.
July 17, 200916 yr Author Sorry guys. Alright heres a better post. Within the next month, I'm either getting a 2008 vw Passat or a 2010 Mazda 3. In it, I plan on getting 4 alpine type s component speakers, tweeters and crossovers with whatever headunit I get powering them. Now for my subwoofer, I've been looking at getting 1 nice subwoofer. As of current, the subs I'm looking at are a 12" Dc Lvl 4 subwoofer, a 12" Fi Q fully loaded Subwoofer, or a 12" Fi BL fully loaded subwoofer. As of right now, I've been leaning towards Fi. I'm just wondering though, whats the major difference between the BL and the Q because I noticed the BL is more expensive but the Q and Bl are both 1000 Rms of power. If someone could tell me the differnce I would appreciate it.
July 17, 200916 yr you know how lots of subs out there tend to loose their smooth sound tonality when you start reaching loud limits? Are you one of those guys who would rather sacrifice the maximum loud potential for consistent smooth sounding bass or do you want your bass to get louder and louder and louder regardless of what it starts to sounds like once you are really jammin? The BL\Lvl4-basic is a good comparison to each other. The Q is your smooth sounding sub.

July 17, 200916 yr The Q is what I would recommend then, it can get loud while retaining good sound quality.

July 18, 200916 yr from what i've heardthe Q leans more towards the sound quality sidethe BL leans more towards the SPL sidethey're both Fi so they both get loud and can handle some power. (btw they're both rated for 1000 watts)
