Posted May 11, 200520 yr Admin ok, I am helping Brian look for an amplifer, he has on order 2 RL-p 12 D2's from the group buy, and now he is in need of an amp, so we need a final load of 2 ohms mono with about 600 to 1200 watts to push the subs, he is not trying to win any tropies just have damn good sound..he is putting this all into a 2k4 Explorer in the cargo compartment which sits below the floor of the rear cargo area, after some quick measurements and no moddifications he has about 16" wide max, 1' deep, 5" thick to work with for the amplifer to sit down in..so I thought that a few options would be:- the MTX 801D, good amp, great price, low on features, solid performer when pure power is the only factor needed...- the RF 1001bd, very strong amp, more power than the MTX, serious performer, fairly conservative on the current for daily needsany suggestions you guys have post them up for sure, Brian is a good guy, he has spent more time doing important military things while we have been playing with our toys, so I thought maybe we could get this set up right Edited May 11, 200520 yr by denim
May 11, 200520 yr Author Admin here are a few shots of the area we have to work with:he said he is willing to modify it if really needed, but I felt we can work around that, from what I understand it will be getting some fiberglass treatment, but for all accounts he does not have a ton of time, the Navy keeps him very busy
