I am looking for a decent sounding 8. I've done some research and for me its between these 3 brands, mostly because i have found each one at a pretty decent price since im real low on cash and yet want one.

A JL audio w0 or w3, Image dynamics ID8 v3 D2, or diamond audio D308D4 8". As far as the Diamond audio goes, i cant find any info as far as testing goes, but it has a 2.5" voice coil and i thought that was pretty cool, now that i say that im looking at the website and cant find specs for the 8 so i really am doubting it has that size voice coils.

This will go into a small sealed box about .4cu/ft built by me. I am not looking for super-mega-head-hurting-vision-blurring bass, just clean accurate stuff.

This will be powered by a JL Audio e4300 which is rated at 150rms@4ohms bridged.

Any other brands i should be looking at?, i just have never used an 8 before so i dont know where to start looking.

Thanks

Look into the Sundown 8's they have a good price and a overall good speaker

The Sundown E8's are discontinued and hard to find and the Sundown X8 is not available yet.

I just finished installing 2 JL w7v3 8's. They are amazing!

They are cheap as well, consider about $200 on craigs list if your on a budget.

I would lean towards the ID's, but I have not heard the JL W0 8's, though the W3's are a solid driver. Not sure off the top of my head, but maybe check the Sound Splinter Orphan 8 too.

I ended up getting 2 ID8d2 v3's for 100. I am using 1 in a 3.7cu/ft^3 sealed box powerd by a JL e4300 brigded 3&4. Sounds great and gets low, i am pleased :)

That is great to hear and all that matters. :)

iwould look at the RL-i8, cheap in price and can work in as little 0.2 cu/ft., plus it's a single 4 ohm which when you need to bridge an amp some of them only bridge at 4ohm.

Except for the RLi-8, which should be an excellent driver (based on my experience with the 15" TC2+ that O-Audio used to carry), all of the drivers mentioned so far are not really up for high-fidelity audio use.

If you're looking for something better, try the CSS Trio8.

XBL^2 motor with multiple shorting rings, long throw, well-made, and 80 USD a pop.

If that's too pricey, look at the Peerless SLS8.

Excellent motor with shorting ring, good suspension, basket is stamped but well-designed with under-spider ventilation. VERY solid driver for in-car use.
