I have a 07 Tahoe and 2 BL dual 1 ohm 18s on a hifonics BXi 2010. I was looking to add 2 more 18 BLs in a 18cu. ft. ported box tuned to 32Hz. I also wanted to upgrade my amps to 2 RF T2500-BDs strapped at 2ohms. My question is will this be too much power for the subs? They are fully loaded for daily use. Please help. Thanx.

The BL's should handle the power.

Definitely true power with the RF amps

I know the Rockford's always produce more that the listed wattage and when i went yesterday to take a look at one, the birth sheet had it listed at 3190watts. That seemed hella good to me, but I didn't know if my BLs could handle all of that. I really like them, but i dont want to kill them!!! Thanx for the input guys.

that would be a little over 2000 watts to each bl. they cant take that much.

just back off the gains some and they should be fine.

If you know how to set the amp correctly and have the BL's in the right enclosure they will handle it.

Oh and FYI the birthsheet means absolutely nothing. Rockford will make let's say 200 of the same amp, pull one off and test it. Whatever it does they print on all the birthsheets.

Hes right about the birthsheets ,but that being said i will never buy another amp unless it's RF . Only a personal opinion guys

Thanks for the input guys. So with all this being said, does it make a difference whether i strap the amps together or run them seperately, 1 amp for two subs? I've ordered both amps and the other two subs arrived on saturday, so as soon as I get some free time, i will begin the build on the box.

Separately, you have to match the gains, which can be difficult, see as setting the gain 1/2 way on both doesnt necessarily mean they are putting out the same power.

i say strapped, cuz im lazy.

What's your electrical like?
