Posted September 3, 200916 yr I have 2 Massive Audio D3000.1's right now with the gain turned up about half way. I put a recommended 100amp fuse in the holder... today i got in the car, turned on the stereo and one amp didn't turn on. I checked all the wiring, everything is fine...checked the fuse, fuse was fine. The amp doesnt turn on at all, doesnt go into protect, nothing. I used a multi meter to check the voltage, the remote wire was reading 12v but the power wire is reading 0.03v what happened?? :S
September 3, 200916 yr 0.03 volts= no power going into your amp. do you have one long run of wire from the front to the back? or do you have batteries in the trunk?
September 3, 200916 yr Author 0.03 volts= no power going into your amp. do you have one long run of wire from the front to the back? or do you have batteries in the trunk?i have 2 batteries in the trunk. The way the wire is run right now is:battery ---> fuse holder / distribution block --> (60 amp fuse) --> 4 channel amp --> (100amp fuse, what is recomended for my amp) --> DB3000.1 Edited September 3, 200916 yr by bass_4_ever
September 3, 200916 yr so that ma amp is like 1500rms at 1ohm i believe corret? and you have a 100amp fuse on it. sholdn't you have something like a 150 maybe more? also you siad you ahve 2 ma 3000's do does your distro block have 3 outputs i assume?also if you aren't geting volts to that amp there must be an issue with the line from the distroblock to the amp or even father up the. .03volts = nothing did you use the dmm on the wire itself or at the terminal?

My distribution block only has 1 0 gauge input and 2 4 gauge outputs. One side goes to my 4 channel amp (which is working fine), and the other goes to the DB3000. I doubt there would be any trouble further up the line if my 4 channel is being powered fine...I used the DMM on the terminal which read 0.03v
September 3, 200916 yr okay so what about the other amp then? you said you had 2 ma 3000.1d amps? if your distro block outputs 2-4gauge how are you powering 3amps?and you should be checking the wire not the terminals. jsut pull the wireS out of the terminals and touch the dmm to it and see if it reads what your battery reads! September 3, 200916 yr Author okay so what about the other amp then? you said you had 2 ma 3000.1d amps? if your distro block outputs 2-4gauge how are you powering 3amps?the other amp is connected to the other battery on its own. its a 4 gauge from the battery (with fuses ofcourse). 2 batteries...one battery going to one DB3000one battery going to a distribution block / fuse holder; one side goes to one DB3000, the other side goes to the 4 channel.
September 3, 200916 yr have you tried to put the power and ground wires from the working 3000 to the dead one? and see if somethign happens! and that is good you ahve at least 2 batteries to power 3krms! Edited September 3, 200916 yr by CrazyKenKid
September 3, 200916 yr Author have you tried to put the power and ground wires from the working 3000 to the dead one? and see if somethign happens!I haven't tried that yet since its dark out here, and was dark when the amp went down. I'll try that tomorrow...worth a shot

I'll try that tomorrow...worth a shoto for sure! but why don't you run out there and unplug both yrou pos and neg leads and touch them to the dmm and see what they are reading that way you can elimate if there is an issue with the distro/wiring.then you can narrow it down to either the amp, or rca's or remo err you check the remo and it si 12volts how is your remote wired? one after another or did you do it the right way and use a relay?also try to tugg on the wire from the ditroblock MAYBE i came out some how or isn't 100% in there Edited September 3, 200916 yr by CrazyKenKid

I will do it tomorrow during my lunch hour @ work. I dont think the RCA's would cause no power from the power wire...both remote wires are attached to 1 switch to turn on both DB3000s, the directly to the amps.
September 3, 200916 yr Just because the fuse looks fine doesn't mean it is fine. Use the DMM to check continuity on the fuse. If it doesn't pass the test, replace the fuse. This isn't rocket science guys.
September 3, 200916 yr Author the fuse is fine...thats what im saying.even if it was the fuse that popped, what would have caused that? Edited September 3, 200916 yr by bass_4_ever

September 3, 200916 yr umm isn't 14.4volts at 1500 rms something like 103amps? and your fuse is rated for 100amps?
September 3, 200916 yr Author umm isn't 14.4volts at 1500 rms something like 103amps? and your fuse is rated for 100amps?not sure, but like i said, it says 100 amp fuse recommended in the manual, and I've also called Massive Audio and they said 100amp fuse is enough.i think its 104.16 amps or something... but im not running 1500wrms out of the amps, they're only turned up about half way Edited September 3, 200916 yr by bass_4_ever
September 3, 200916 yr umm your gains are half way that is cool but you should have set them via the dmm
September 3, 200916 yr Author umm your gains are half way that is cool but you should have set them via the dmmboth amps are set using a multi meter, set to the exact same output signal
September 3, 200916 yr Author depends on which tone, each tone gives a different signal....the multi meter is places on the speaker outputs of the amp and set accordingly on both amps
September 3, 200916 yr lol and what did you turn your gains to? 60hz? and if so what didd you set it to 37v ac?
