I have always wondered about some of the lingo used on these forums when it comes in competitions...

Anyway what is a Bass Race vs a dB drag? Or a SQ event? How are they measured? I am sure I missed a few different race names but what are they? How are they all different? How are they measured?

I was googling around and found this. But this just explains the rules of a dB drag, nothing more... And I don't know if these are just the rules for one set of competitions held by one company, or the national rules that everybody follows,...

Bassrace has brackets based on a measured db output. The object is to come as close at you can to the upper limit while playing music, with in the 30 time limit with out going over your specified class. For example there is a 139.9 class, so if you can hover at 139.4 and the guy next to you does a 140.1 then you win.

DBdrag is an all out (one note) peak frequency burp, and it too is broken up into classes based upon equipment.

I was wondering the same things!

There are so much events, so much associations,... IASCA, MECA,...................in the USA!!!

Here at home ? Nothing :) We just enjoy it as we can!!!

Ditto. DBdrag is usually broken into groups based on how many watts you are using.

SQ is graded by judges just like the Xgames would be judged iirc.
