ok so i got a new HU and i connected everything according to what i know.

my HU is a jvc kd-g820 when i plug the wires to the HU it makes a noise that you can hear is working then it stops but when i try to turn on nothing happens.

my question is do i have to connect the illumination wire to the orange or to the 12v which is yellow ? since nothing happens when press any buttons

Go to the12volt.com and use the vehicle wiring section. It will tell you everywire for the stereo and it's purpose. I print it and save it for my cars in case my computer fucks up and I can't access the net.

Hopefully you didnt do what one local shop while at college did, they shorted out my ignition wire in your harness. Now I have to run a wire from the ignition wire of the radio to the fuse box luckily its right below the center dash in my car until I find a permanent solution.

well this is what happened :suicide-santa: my last stereo touched the ground and power and old stereo dead the fuse from the box blown then i got this HU and placed new fuse so now im stuck

how can i know if it happen the same thing to me? is there any way i can check it with a volt meter
