June 3, 200520 yr thanks for the kind words effendi. your pods are comming along great. i hope mine go just as smooth as yours, but mine are gonna be considerably larger than yours i just hope i can find a good way of attaching them
June 3, 200520 yr Author Recovered some of my pics..Doorpods...Had to cut out a portion and re-glass it (midranges didnt fit)
June 20, 200520 yr Author UPDATE:Mounted baffles to the doorpods, stretched fleece. I realize they may look a little rough, just because I pre-drilled all the holes already, and I added a few more layers of glass. more to come....
June 20, 200520 yr Looking real good. This is your first glassing experence right? When you get done it would be great if you shared your what to do and what to not do experence.
June 21, 200520 yr dood, that is total pwnageif you ever need more midbass looks like you could even have the room to port cant wait to see them finished, you said you wanted yours (i think it was you) to turn out better than my tweeter pods...its gonna do that plus more looks like
June 21, 200520 yr Author hmmm....staples? never seen that before looks real nice.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Yes, staples. (I used 6.3mm staples) They hold the fleece much more effectively while stretching. I used high-tack spray adhesive to attach the fleece to the backside. I found this to be much easier than attempting to adhere and stretch everything at once...Today I resined the fleece, these doorpods are almost done, just have to bondo them, and then cover them in either vinyl or suede..

Always good to have a mechanical fastener. I can't tell you how many times I've had problems on a corner because of no fastener or ridge.Shoot MattB a PM and he'll hook you up on what you need to cover them. He's great to deal with!
June 23, 200520 yr Author Fleeced and resined, sanded and installed.I am still going to Bondo them and cover them in either vinyl or suede... I also have to build a cover patch for the small area above the doorpods... should be pretty simple.. (some MDF and some fabric)...Enjoy the pics...Added another layer of resin..See the gap?? I will probably fill it in with a small piece of MDF and covered in vinyl, probably with the DLS logo embossed into it or something.....I've got some ideas..
June 23, 200520 yr i just cant look at dls speakers without thinking of basketball.looks phat, homes.
June 24, 200520 yr Bondo ?Pffttt, dont need itthrow some fabric on there and you wont see any imperfections
