hi right now I am in the process of putting together my first system in a 1968 Impala SS and what i am really shooting for great SQ overall will still being able to loud but clear. I want the bass to also sound balanced with the rest of the system and not overpowering mids/highs. Here is what i am looking at as far as speakers go if it makes any difference.

2 pairs of Pioneer TS-C720PRS (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/Speakers/PRS-Series/TS-C720PRS)

Speakers Powered by PRS-A900 (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/Amplifiers/PremierSeries/PRS-A900)

Now for the subs... I have been thinking along the lines of 2 12's or 1 15 but who knows i could be way off. Please give me feedback on what you think. Do i need the BP option for the Q's? Also, what type of enclosure would you recommend. I appreciate any help I just want to get everything right the first time.

like the idea, but a 2nd pair is not needed for the back its just a wast. what you should do is just have the front speakers cause concerts are played in front of you not behind you. now with the subs i vote 2 12s.

2 12s more cone area, can put out more sound. but the 1 15 will still be fantastic with your goals, maybe a little more too.

personaly i dont like pioneer speakers. id look into a decent pair of cdt components and as far as subs go depends on your box if you want real sq seal the trunk and get an ib sub but you should be fine with a sealed box a 15 will work as long as it is blended properly if you want to go ported for addional bass extension a single 12 will be more than enough

thank you for the fast responses. I think I am leaning more towards the 2 12s in a sealed enclosure. Now, you mentioned cdt components for speakers. They look impressive but i dont know whether to get 2-way or 3-way components and also what would be the best way to power the speakers. In other words what amps would you recommend for the subs and speakers. Any thoughts on good head unit brands also? Im extremely new to all this.

Stick with the 720PRS's. Those speakers are amazing. One of the best sets Pioneer has ever sold.

If I get the 720PRS's for the front, is there any need for back speakers. If so, which would you recommend? Also what would be the difference between two Fi Q 12's in a sealed enclosure vs. one Fi Q 15 in a ported box?
