Posted November 16, 200915 yr http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products/subwoofers/jackHammer24sq.cfmMaybe this one will be used more appropriately. In the pimp my ride where they installed the original jackhammer, a 22" woofer on 8500w only hit 130dB.
November 16, 200915 yr yea, i've seen that one. even still they did a jackhammer 22 install into a big ass van with two jackhammer 22's and all the amps to push it. i think it peaked out at 140 db. and it was in the optimum enclosure for those subs.Weird
November 16, 200915 yr Author That is in a IB config though so....It's 22" come on...Someone do the math, how much area is that? And 8500w to boot? The new one is rediculous. 400lbs? Most of it is frame!!Am i wrong? I calculated the surface area of the 24" to be 48sqft?If they hit anything below 150 with that much area, i'm gonna break someone.
November 16, 200915 yr Author i think that sub was just made for the awe-factor...huge waste of money imo.I would rather have an LMS-5400 any day..... Edited November 16, 200915 yr by DeepSubBoy

With a 2' x 2' square sub? Hmm........I'm going to say 4 square feet.
November 17, 200915 yr that is a FUCKLOAD of cone area for a single sub though. 576 sq in of cone area lol.
November 17, 200915 yr i seen a video on youtube where a guy was hittin a 150. it was walled in his lumina
November 17, 200915 yr Yeah, I remember that episode of pimp my ride. That thing was a turd. I would take two 18's over that thing any day.
November 17, 200915 yr The only one that i have seen that was fairly decent was Rocketboys, 153.6 in the little red lumina I believe.
November 17, 200915 yr The only one that i have seen that was fairly decent was Rocketboys, 153.6 in the little red lumina I believe. He fit a 22 in a Lumina? That's awesome.
November 17, 200915 yr Kinda the same as people getting 30" rims on a truck and all turning radius goes to shit. yea it looks good. but how functional is it.

Kinda stupid if you ask me, but to each its own.

I did 24" x 24" = 576 576"/12" = 48ft Theoretically, with all that surface area, imagine (4) 24's in a suburban or walled in a truck or something @ rms tuned @ ~26hz Edited November 17, 200915 yr by DeepSubBoy

November 21, 200915 yr To me that video didnt prove jackshit, a 22" subwoofer should be able to get into the 150's with ease or it would of been a waste of money and parts if it didnt. Just my .02
November 21, 200915 yr Yea. didn't prove much. i've seen people with two 15's that got higher. Hell Jacob. got into the 150's with just 2 SA-8's
