i bought a kicker zx1000.1 about 3 yrs ago then go into some financial problems.. got them under control and am starting to piece a system together for my 02 xtreme blazer.. so far i have the zx1000.1 and yesterday i bought 2 basically new IDQ15v2 subs for $200.. also have 125sqft of raamaat.. plan o getting some ID ctx65cs and an amp to give them 150-200w/dr.. how do u think this set up will sound for rock/metal?

I think you'll be surprised about how loud 150-200 watts will be in each door.

yeah.. not many ppl around here even have amps on there door speakers.. my dad had some boston comps in his car off of probly 50w and it go pretty loud

that sounds like a good install. I really wanted to try those ID ctx65cs speakers out. But I just don't have any justification unless my current set up blows. But yea looks like it is going to be a a good set-up. Now just make sure your box is fully built to spec and is just perfect. Then you should deff be fully satisfied. I have heard good things about the ID subs as well. That was a steal though. 100 a piece? No way.... And you will be at about 900 rms with both of those and have a little headroom as well.

How is your electrical system? Will it be able to fully accommodate the system you plan on putting in? Big 3?

plan on going with a sealed box, not sure how big yet.. probly go to Image Dynamics forum and asked them.

yes $100 a piece! elecrical is stock right now, plan on doing the big 3

ok good. Yea I think I should save up and do the big 3 upgrade. It isn't that expensive I just am lazy and don't wanna go underneath and do all the shit. But I will have about 1200 watts plus my 4 channel which will be about 400 watts or more so thats a total of 1600 watts. I am worried that I will have to get another battery in the trunk but I want to have my system to be perfect and I won't have to worry about shit dying or breaking. So if I were you do some research. Just to make sure.

Are you wanting the amp to be four ohms stereo at that power? Plenty of choices if you bridge an amp though. Do the speakers need that much?

My components off 100 watts in each door will make your ears bleed, if you want loud though get some horn tweeters, and get them on 15 watts.

im looking for a 4 channel to bridge.. not sure if they need that much but the guys on the ID forum said they could handle 200w so thats what id figure id shoot for

That seems like a lot. I think 100-125 is kind of the average. 200 seems like a ton of power and might risk blowing the speakers. I am sure you will be happy off of 100 watts for sure.

I have Kicker SS6.5" Components. The doors are not deadened.

get a sundown 50.4

not wanting to spend $200. the cheaper the better but i still want quality.

Remember the old adage, you get what you pay for.

X2. Especially when it comes to Sundown.

I am sure if you search around for a bit you might actually find some deals. But yea I would deff wait and get the 50.4 sundown. I am tryin to wait and snipe a good deal on a used sax 100.4 I just love sundown amps. Built really well. Trust me I learned the hard way. 500 dollar hard way of repairing amps. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

The 50.4 is on sale for 150 something at db-r.com so go get on it ASAP or get something of lesser quality and crossover flexibility but it is your money and your choice
