December 22, 200915 yr Great choice! That is what I am using on my id xs69 set. You will not notice the difference in output between the 50.4 and the cadence. You will however notice the quality!

It is faily common. Because the magnet is so powerful it actually sucked in some metal burs and gives the speaker a scratchy sound to it. I need to clean them. The get rediculously loud off 150 watts let me just put it that way to you. Rock and metal is retarded on them!

January 8, 201015 yr Author was just looking at the specs on my kicker zx1000.1 and it says it has 0-18db variable bass boost @ 40hz.. my question is if i wanted to put my IDQs in a low tuned(28hz) ported box would this cause problems?

DO NOT TURN ON THE BASS BOOST. It will destroy all of your equipment. Here is some information to back that up. In order to increase by 3db, you theoretically need to double the output power of the amp. So say you have your gains set so you are producing 1000 watts rms without the bass boost and then you increase the bass boost to just 3db, the amp will try to output 2000 watts of power and thus clip like crazy and will overheat if not blow the amplifier. The only way to safely run bass boost is if you turn your gains wayyy down. But why would you want to do that? Then the only note that will be loud is 40hz.Bottom line, forget the boost!

January 9, 201015 yr Yea I don't use the bass boost. That was the first thing that I heard never to do. The funny thing is some people ask "then WHY DO THEY PUT BASS BOOST ON THE AMP!"and the usual response is because it is a marketing gimmick. If they didn't have it, normal consumers wouldn't buy it without it.
January 15, 201015 yr Author may be a change in plans... thinking of selling my IDQs and kicker amp and getting 2 SA-8s tuned to 28-30hz and powered by a sundown sae 1200.. like the idea of 8s so i can show ppl wat they can do. no one around here has 8s Edited January 15, 201015 yr by 02xblazer
