Naw it doesnt make it harder just have to get longer wire so your wire from battery positive terminal to alternator positive terminal. I didnt do mines because my car's factory wire was 4 gauge and my battery is in the trunk, when I get an HO Alternator then I will upgrade the wire.

BMWs, or at least my brothers does

BMW's, Saturns, Mercedes, Lambo's, some Chryslers and so on. Some even have the factory battery in the rear tire wheel or under a seat in the car, not all models neither just certain ones.

I know Dodge Chargers do, and I believe my friend's Volvo S60 has his battery in the rear of the car. It actually makes it a bit more convenient, IMO, to change the battery. And definitely cleaner for the people who hate getting dirt and crud from the engine on their hands.

Those people must be women!santa.gif Lol.

I love it as far as systems go, since I dont have to run a wire from the front of the car to the back.

Yeah so it is a win, lose situation. Actually a win win situation for me till I get me a HO Alternator, till then I will only have the Big 2 done.

Unless you isolated your front battery from your engine compartment as well added batteries to the back, then you have lots of wire to run, at least it's not hard :P
