Posted January 17, 201015 yr I recently got a nice deal on two used mm1400.1d's. Now i'm considering running them together on one BTL 12. Does it matter if one has a little more wear and tear than the other? Will it be okay as long as i check that i have the amps sending the same output wattage with a multimeter? Is it a bad idea all together?
January 17, 201015 yr Strapping them or gain matching will be just fine. Strapping would be the safest way.

I should be getting 2800 watts x 1 at 2 ohms or 4 ohms?
January 17, 201015 yr if, individually they make power at 1 ohm, then strapped together they make power at 2 ohmsso if they make 1400 @ 1 ohm each, it would be 2800 @ 2 ohms strapped

I really dont remember how amps are actually strapped.. is it almost like running the outputs of the amps in series?

January 17, 201015 yr Author So I found a tutorial on the MLX-100 ( ) and here they used ampfliers with a master/slave switch, but im thinking that was just a coincidence because they had both switches set to master.. so IF i'm correct.. the MLX-100 is a way to get around not having a master/slave switch.. right?PS. The device will also serve as a line driver?

January 17, 201015 yr IMO save your $100, run one amp per coil and use a DMM to set the amps.I don't see the need to spend $100 on something you can do yourself for free......
