The guy has two for sale a big one and a portable one.

100 for the big one.

50 for the portable.

I can't tell which one is which but is this a good deal anyways? I don't know how much I could use this or even how. But I know they're expensive.

So my question is should I call him and get it now or just settle for setting my gains with a dmm or just by ear?

Here's the link. http://austin.craigslist.org/ele/1560089213.html

i'd hop right on that shit, lol, and if it's this one, that is a effin deal

Hand Held Digital Oscilloscope

but even still, the only other portable o-scope that i looked into was well over $100. so either way it's gunna be a deal, maybe

id get the big one bc it has more knobs lol.

I have used the BIG one in the past in my electronics labs! they aer awesome but some of the aer junk b/c the kids don't know how to use them and break stuff. but make sure he includes probes! at least 10x probes!

and yes to set your gain via oscope is the best so you can see at what point the amp will clip at! (give you a square wave)

and the big one has 2channel input (it looks like) and hte smaller one looks to have just 1channel input. also from my experience the big one is more accurate and responsive then the hand held ones(smaller ones) liek with the smaller one there tends to be a bit of a delay but they both operate the same way. we don't have the smaller ones in our lab our hand held ones a a few version newer then that one (the smaler one)

IMO, the big one would be pointless, i'd want to be able to take it with me with ease and portability.

just sayin'..

I haven't called cause I'm at school but if he doesn't have probes then do you know where I can get more?

And I'll make sure I do a ton of research before I even think about using it to set my gains!

And it's only $50 vs $100 lol but if the big is more accurate then I don't wanna cheap out and go with one that will give me delayed results.

o you can buy them on ebay for ~10ish they aren't expensive. jsut it is another item you haev to buy. and yes we or I can help you out in setting your gain it is pretty simple to do.!. well i shoudlnt' say simple lol but once you do it it all good!

o and the big one isn't THAT big, maybe 15x15x5 inch lol! they aer about 15-20lb also. but liek i say i notice they are more accurate and easier to use. whenever i am using and oscope i always go for the bigger ones!

i wonder if those oscopes are HOT b/c they normaly go for a lot more money you know!

As long as it works then I don't care if it's hot.

But if it's somebody's on this forum then go ahead take a look at the post and bust the guy. I just care if it works or not.

lol well make sure you get it before someone else does!

and just incase you were wondering you cna use a dmm to set yoru gain but BUT the dmm can't tell you visual when your amp is clipping. it only tells you the output voltage (a/c output voltage to the sub that is)
