could yall suggest something? theyre most likely gonna be in the doors IB (although i may eventually make sealed doorpods). budget is $200 give or take. should be a 6.5-7". mounting depth isnt a concern. used is fine. thanx.

thanx.

aww how come though? after spending all that time making those sweet doorpods.

keeping the same pods? extremis?

  • Author

hmm i think im gonna go with either xxx's or extremis'.

now based on my amp, which should i go with yall?

help me out here please :)

anyone have any idea when the 4ohm extremis will be out?

HEy check out the EU-700 from eD they are on preorder rite now and ben said they will be done any day now. Just don play them over 1khz.

some get that bile taste in their mouth when it comes to eD and pre-order.

lol

anyways, i've decided on the extremis. emailed wiggins and he said they would work just fine in the doors off of as little as ~30wrms. looks like i'm gonna have some fun with that mounting depth

he said that they should start being a little bit more on axis if crossing them higher, but mine will be crossed between 1-2hkz so i'm fine with in the doors.

Take a look at these. Great price as well. http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=288

Edit: Sorry just realized you went with the Extremis. Enjoy!

yah just saw those the other day. :) thanx for the attempt though kali, but no need to worry, that forum is like my 2nd/3rd stop when i go online.

i would have gone with one of the better priced seas offerings but i figured i would try out the extremis, which adire claims to hang with the excels, revelators, etc.

Let me know how you like those extremis. I was looking at them as well before I decided to go with the excels for midrange and the L18RNX/P for midbass.

will do. i think i'm gonna try em IB first and if i dont like that, i'm gonna build sealed doorpods for them.

if you want other opinions, ask undercoverpunk. you can see em in his avatar above in this thread somewhere.

preliminary testing, with no where near enough power says...

These things sound waaaaaayy, WAY bigger than they are, so far I like em...

  • Author

how much power are you giving em?

  • Author

i was wondering how many layers of glass did you put on your doorpods. i just started my doorpod glassing today but i'm gonna go sealed.
