Posted February 4, 201015 yr ok im kinda a newbie when it comes to car audio. i herd 1 kicker 15'' cvx today in a ported box and it was insane to me. i know alot about FI but ive never had there stuff. would 1 FI Q 15'' be louder?
February 4, 201015 yr It depends on which would be louder but it all will come down to enclosure and install, these two subs were made for different goals in mind.
February 4, 201015 yr dont buy a q to get loud. get a bl or ssd, in march (if you want to say with fi)
February 4, 201015 yr If your looking for loud get a BL or a BTL. The Q is a sound quality woofer. But to answer your question i think in the correct enclosure the q would be louder and sound better doing it
February 4, 201015 yr Author It depends on which would be louder but it all will come down to enclosure and install, these two subs were made for different goals in mind.i know the box is the main thing but i just wana know when it come down to the 2 wich is better. i want sound quality and loudness.i thought it was insane that one sub could be better than my 2 12'' pioneers lol now i think there crap:P
February 4, 201015 yr any Fi would be a better choice. IMO.under the right circumstances. when you hear the Fi, you're going to be very satisfied.
February 4, 201015 yr "Q" stands for Sound Quality from the Fi Q Line.If your looking for loud the above recommendations are for you (BL or BTL)What does your budget consist of and what kind of amp will you use to power your subwoofer?

February 4, 201015 yr BL is more for a daily ground pounder that will be loud and still maintain a decent amount of sound quality.

February 4, 201015 yr Just because they have the same RMS doesn't mean they both will be the same as far as output. If you want loud with some SQ go with a BL. Also check out the Xcon, I have heard good things about those.

Also check out the Xcon, I have heard good things about those.well i just thought the q would be better couse the xmax is like twice as much as the bl.i mainly just wana amaze people. im still going twards the q.i mean i got 2 12'' wallmart pioneers so i know there gana be loud to me.
February 4, 201015 yr xmax doesnt matter. dont get the Q as it is a SQ sub. It will get loud but it is not meant for that purpose. Go with a SSD, BL, or BTL depending on your budget. The SSD is a good all around daily driver while the BL is a good daily driver that will get very loud but still sound pretty good doing it. The Q is not what you are after. Try to take everyones advice on this one and get the Q out of mind and either wait until march and get the new SSD or get the BL now.
February 4, 201015 yr Sound quality and loud can be achieved with any FI subwoofer, so thinking only the Q can do it your wrong. Only get the Q if you dont plan on throwing that many watts at it as it doesnt need it since it is a SQ driver, not what you are looking for. People on here are trying to help you save some money, either go with a SSD or a BL.
February 4, 201015 yr NEVER look at just Xmax and rated power handling when buying a driver. The Q is for SOUND QUALITY only, that is not what you want it for.

February 4, 201015 yr Go with the bl. 2 12's will be insane !!!The Q is an amazing driver, for sure, but it will not get as loud as a bl.Coming from 2 Pioneer subs, you will love any FI sub!!! But the bl or the ssd are your best option, at FI.There are lot of other good subs in the ssa shop : take a look and come back if you have more question. Look at Incriminator, Sundown, SSA,... and many more.
February 4, 201015 yr The Q is a SQ sub, but it gets damn loud for a SQ sub. I think is the right application, then yeah it will still be louder then the Kicker comp. The lowend will definitely have more power then the comp and for my personal taste, the lowend always "feels" more powerful then the upper bass freqs. IMO Deep bass = more intimidating then upper bass, even if it doesn't meter quite as high.

I didn't make a recomendation... I was not recommending the Q over the Kicker comp, I stated that from my experience it was still louder despite being a SQ sub and that I think the deeper bass feels more powerful. Obviously comparing a kicker comp to a Fi Q would not be apples to apples. Edited February 4, 201015 yr by gHOstFaCe

February 4, 201015 yr The BL is more than capable of generating the same "deeper bass" that the Q is.I can't disagree with that statement. I plan on switching to BL's from Q's hopefully in a few months. The title of the thread though is, fi q 15" vs kicker cvx 15", so I chimed in on that since I have had experience with both....
