Posted July 5, 200520 yr Has anyone had any experience with this amp? Im looking for loud and cheap. It says 1800@1 , dont know how accurate it is though. It will be put on an 18" HC once I get it reconed. My Goal is loud, not daily driver just one loud burp machine. Will this amp suffice or should I look into something along the Hifonics line?My Goal is 145 to start with.
July 5, 200520 yr Im looking for loud and cheap. .My Goal is 145 to start with. You get what you pay for. And a 145db, car off, will not come easy.
July 5, 200520 yr Author What do you mean by car off?Do you think a hifonics amp would be better?I just want something that puts out power, thats it, nothing special. It probably wont even be used daily. I have my Rl-p and kicker amp for that.
July 5, 200520 yr Bottom line, a 145db on the termlab is not easy. And a cheap amp will not get you there.I'm not fimiliar with lower end amps, so I can't help you out on that one. If your looking $450+ I can offer suggestions.
July 5, 200520 yr well i have a 3000db and its said to put out 2300@1ohm, but has said to bench 2100...I mean but as most people say you need to double your power to gain db's. So if your just gonna burp i would say get a more powerfull amp i dont think 1800 is gonna cut it, unless the mic is in the box, lol. But its all on the install and car(which people forget to mention)lol
July 5, 200520 yr Author Im in no rush, I can just get the sub fixed for now.Ill have a fixed bp1200 soon enough to sell and I can just get somthing better. Im sure I can run across somehting used for a good price.

Doesn't get hot at all ... not even really warm to tell you the truth - provides plenty of power to the uber.I've done burps with it before (@ 1ohm) and it didn't shut down ... running the stock 60 amp alt.If I were you, I'd grab something like a VR2000D or one of the many other amps out there that'll do a lot of power (Orion 2500D, etc). The Orion might be one of the best deals out there watt : dollar ratio.

July 6, 200520 yr Author Im kinda thinkin about the Memphis Mojo! Ive always wanted one and this a good excuse. But like I said I think ill watch the for sale section for a while, im really in no rush. A modded MTX 1501d wouldnt be bad either! First step will be getting the woofer, and getting the JBL fixed. Ill see what that can do to it for awhile! It killed the 15 HC
July 6, 200520 yr the PA 3000db wouldnt be a bad idea, i have mine wired to .5 ohms, and it hasnt cut off once
