Do I fit the power and negative cables in and take my voltage meter to the speaker out lets? I cant remember

I want to test it with the stock alt wire and ground and see if I can get more power from doing the Big 3. Im sure you will suggest to use it but I want to know how much a difference it made on my truck and post up the results.

Mine is a 2500hd duramax so I know I have a higher amp Alt. Plus 2 batteries already

It won't work the way you want it to.

Think you can explain more Duran? Are you saying that doing the test wont register any different results? Or just the way to test the power?

I think you would need a clamp meter also, to test the power on the speaker wires also. But i am not really sure, i always let the people who know what they were doing do it!! And i never asked how!! Sorry man. Good luck with the test should be a nice comparison chart.

So when amp makers test their product they dont use just a normal voltage tester?

Sorry if thats a retarded question, I dont know alot about the electrical side of most things lol

You could always just test your voltage at the batt, or before the amp.

The results wouldn't be different, you would need a clamp meter to measure power output in watts.

Don't worry about asking a retarded question, we're all here to learn ;)

Yea thats what i thought, he would need to clamp the speaker wires also then multiply the numbers right?? Wouldnt it work that way? If not please explain. Thanks.

Correct. Volts x amps = watts

Cool man thanks. So to the OP, I hope you got your answer out of that! Good Luck! Post up some results when done, would be a good write-up.
